Sometimes it pays to fly...

We've returned home from our 10 day trip to San Antonio, TX and had quite the adventure on the first day out.

We arrived at the Spokane airport (2 1/2 weeks ago) on a Saturday morning only to find out, when it was time to board the plane, that it had flat tire. There wasn't a replacement tire anywhere in the entire airport, so the flight was cancelled.

The airlines then began a two hour process of rebooking every single person on the plane. Our best option was to fly to San Francisco that night, stay at the airport a few hours, catch the red eye to Dallas, and take the first flight Sunday morning to San Antonio. Our kids were EXTREMELY tired by the time we made it there the next morning. The jetlag was so bad it felt like we had flown across the Atlantic instead of two time zones away.

As soon as we got to Grandma Joyce's house the kids crashed. At 5 pm, my Uncle Dave and Aunt Elaine came over to see us and the kids were still asleep. Here are a few pics my unlce took of the kids sleeping like logs.

Hans and Austin curled up on Grandma Joyce's couch

Joseph and Grant snuggled up on her bed

Jennabee out like a light on the guest bed

Ada was the only one awake (pictured with Gma Joyce and Pepe)

Even though the change in our flight plans was a pain in the toosh, we did get 70,000 free miles on our mileage plan as well as 7 $250 vouchers towards any flights in the next year. I guess we need to start planning another vacation.

More fun experiences in San Antonio to be posted soon....

Wow That is a great compensation for having a flat tire.
So where will your adventures take you to next time??

I think the compensation is totally worth it.. now you can go somewhere else and wear them out!
