Joseph tends to be our little "wise guy". Here are a few recent events that prove my point:
1. For the past year and a half that we've had our current phone number, we have received tons of phone calls from people speaking Chinese looking for the person who previously had our number. The other night the phone rang and Joseph answered it. He said "hello" and then got quiet. After a few seconds of slience I heard him speaking pretend Chinese in response to the caller. Then he smiled and hung up the phone, proud of his ability to speak "Chinese".
2. Joseph and I were working on some math the other day and I read one of his word problems out loud. "It takes Jennifer 20 minutes to walk to the gym. At what time should she start for the gym if she wants to arrive at 8:10 a.m.?" This problem is easy enough for him to do in his head and answer almost immediately. Instead of answering the question he asked, "Why didn't she just drive to the gym?" He proceeded to tell me that a 20 minute walk to the gym is a pretty good workout, so it was silly for her to go anyway.
3. A couple weeks ago our family had to go to Spokane for Grant's appointment with his opthalmalogist. After the appointment Joe took us to one of our favorite places to eat in Spokane. It's a little hole in the wall place on Monroe (?) called "The Aloha Grill". They have the best teriyaki chicken and rice plates for a great price. Anyway, all the kids piled out of the car to sit at one of the outside tables. Just then a crazy woman walked by yelling like a maniac while throwing her head back in the air. I don't know if she was on drugs or had a mental illness, but Joseph started to imitate her very loudly as she walked by. Her eyes darted straight to Joseph and luckily, instead of going on a rampage, she just laughed at him and kept walking.
In other Joseph news, he got his cast off today. He says his arm feels wimpy and weird.

Thanks for posting that. It gave me a good laugh! Hope all is well at your end. Debbie
Oh man, watch out for that one in high school! Sounds like he's got the system figured out already :) Glad his cast is off. It gives me the willies to not wash a body part for 6 weeks.
