Austin Sledding Accident

Day 4 Swelling is down and Austin can hope his eye on his own. Day 3 Austin posed after coming up with some fun scenarios about how he got his shiner. Day 2 Austin showing his good spirits. Day 1 Teeth are a bit messed up. Day 1 Austin not feeling so great. Took this pic before we headed into the ER.
Austin was sledding with his brothers and friends in some wheat fields. He hit a patch of dirt and it upended his sled. He landed face first on big pile of frozen dirt. An oral and face surgeon is in our ward and he came over and took a look at Austin. He recommended we get a scan of his head and neck to look at things. We went to the ER and he got a CT scan. Head and neck were good. Nose was broken in 3 places and eye socket (orbital) in 4 places. 3 teeth are cracked.
We see an ophthalmologist next week to make sure the eye is okay. Then we see the face surgeon to repair the orbital and nose.
Austin is in good spirits. He's not in a lot of pain. He is happy that he can finally tell people that he has broken a bone.

Holy Cow! That is crazy! I have seen some gushers in my time, but that would FREAK me OUT! I hope he heals up nicely. Good thing you are one tough cookie! Best wishes on a full and happy recovery!
