Joseph and Grant participated in the Pinewood Derby a couple weeks ago. Joe was called to be the Cubmaster last fall and is in charge of running the pack meetings including the Pinewood Derby. He really didn't want Joseph and Grant to race each other, but decided the only fair way to arrange the races was to be completely random, so he had each cubscout draw a number before the race. Of course out of 25 boys, Joseph and Grant ended up drawing numbers right next to one another! They had to race each other on the very first race and Grant beat Joseph by a hair. Joseph was eliminated and Grant got to move on, and ended up winning second place overall. Last year he won third place, but didn't get to go to districts because only the top 2 get to go. Needless to say he was THRILLED about getting to go to districts this time! He was so overcome with joy that he looked like he was going to faint.

Nice looking cars. I love the toothpaste and banana cars. Some people are just so creative. Jamen’s Pinewood Derby cars have always been pretty pathetic....thanks to his parents lack of skill!
